Guwahati: 19-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide After Parents Denied Permission For Picnic

Guwahati: In yet another case of suicide, a 19-year-old girl has committed suicide after her parents didn't allow her to go to a picnic with her college friends.

The incident occurred in Guwahati's Noonmati area.

Reportedly, the girl identified as Violina Saikia was a student of Guwahati College and sought permission from her father to visit Hatisila in Panikhaiti along with her friends for a 'college picnic'.

After her father refused the same, the girl allegedly confined herself to a room for hours and later she went to the bathroom and hung herself in the shower when there was no one at home.

After, the incident she was immediately rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
